Ohio Consumers for Health Coverage

Ohio Consumers for Health Coverage is working to galvanize an informed and coordinated consumer voice to influence health care policy in the state. As Ohio moves toward introducing an insurance connector and premium assistance with an initial goal of covering 500,000 more Ohioans by 2011, this project will seek to encourage insurance reforms that expand access to affordable coverage; assure a financing mechanism, making efficient and effective use of dollars spent; incorporate shared responsibility among employers, government, and individuals; and promote accountability and transparency in health care spending.
The Universal Health Care Action Network of Ohio (UHCAN) is leading the Ohio Consumers for Health Coverage. UHCAN Ohio is a statewide organization working throughout Ohio for high quality, accessible, affordable and publicly accountable health care for all Ohioans through education, empowering people and organizations, and participation in the political process.
