Maine’s Next Giant Leap Toward Health Coverage for All is the statewide Consumer Voices for Coverage project seeking to achieve quality affordable health care for all through shared responsibility with broad and sustainable financing, by building and strengthening the consumer advocacy network actively engaged in health reform efforts, strengthening its communications capacity, and leveraging opportunities to partner with non-traditional allies. Its specific aims include developing and implementing a media/communications plan, developing and implementing a coordinated grassroots outreach plan and improving stakeholder relations.
Consumers for Affordable Health Care (CAHC) is leading Maine’s Next Giant Leap Towards Health Coverage for All initiative. CAHC has led the fight for affordable health care in Maine since 1988. As the largest consumer coalition in Maine, CAHC has over 80 members representing thousands of health care consumers throughout the state, including businesses, non-profits, unions, health care providers, associations, and faith-based organizations.
